Barktoberfest Fun for All

Orange County Animal Services presented their annual "Rescue Appreciation Day" with a fun-filled event offering dozens of adorable adoptable dogs. Dog House Parties was called in to host games for all attendees!

It was a beautiful day at Lake Eola in Orlando, with awesome views of the resident swans playing in the water and basking in the sun.

The Party Dogs had a great time showing all the dogs how to play games and win prizes. "Shirley", a very spirited Basset won best of show in our Jump Through Hoops contest:

And our most fun game was Musical Hoops where eleven dogs vied for the grrrand title of Last Pooch Sitting! Our lucky winner, Clyde got to select his very own Favor Box chock full with a plush toy, gourmet treat and cool neckwear.

Many dogs stopped by our booth for free treats and to stock up on party supplies, and a great time was had by all!

Winter Park Doggy Art Festival a Huge Success!

Dog House Parties was pleased to attend the 8th Annual Doggy Art Festival in Winter Park this weekend on beautiful Park Avenue. All the party dogs were in attendance sporting their chic outfits (and cool sunglasses) while socializing with their friends.

Wiggles was the Belle of the Ball wearing her Easter party-collar.

While Porsche was all-smiles for the camera!

This year's event was put on by the Doggie Door to benefit the Sebastian Haul Fund - a non-profit organization that helps fund transport for Greyhounds to reach their forever homes outside the state of Florida. Since 2008, they have helped 478 Greyhounds!

Many other rescue groups were on hand to boost adoptions and raise awareness. Central Florida Pug Rescue was in attendance with some adorable pugs, like Hope an eleven month old apricot girl looking for her fur-ever home!

Even Sophia, lovingly described by her mom as a "stubborn" Havanese, let her hair down and had some fun with the party dogs.

There were many highly-skilled artists showing off their pet-themed arts & crafts. The folks at the Doggy Door did a great job of organizing this event, and I think all dogs would agree it was the Bark of the Block.

Mardi Gras Dog Parade a Big Hit in Deland, FL

The 13th Annual Mardi Gras on Mainstreet event was a huge success thanks to the Krewe of Amalee. Thousands of dogs and their 2-legged companions packed the streets for a full day of festivities.

Dog House Parties was there giving out treats specially made by Pookies' Bow Wow Bakery and celebrated several birthdays and even the beautiful bride, Bella!

Many of the posh pooches were decked out in Mardi Gras attire, and some lucky pups had very elaborate means of transportation.

The Dog House Parties Krewe had a blast celebrating (another) Bella's birthday - and she got to pick out her own toy and treat!

Luna's massive presence made a huge hit at all the booths.

The parade itself was a sight to see with more than 70 floats and hundreds of 4-legged friends strutting their stuff! All in all, everyone had a great time!

Paws in the Park

The 17th Annual Paws in the Park was held Saturday 2/12/11 at Lake Eola in Orlando to benefit the SPCA of Central Florida. This year's event was a tribute to the 60's with a Puppy Love theme. Many pets & their humans were decked out in tie-dye and peace signs honoring the love pups of the 60's.

Dog House Parties was proud to support this very important cause to bring awareness, adoptions, and much needed funds to the SPCA of Central Florida. Thousands of people and their pets turned out for the event to enjoy the festivities, cash in on raffle prizes and freebies, and soak up the beautiful central Florida weather.

Lots of lucky pups got to take home some cool gifts & yummy treats from the Dog House Parties' booth. And there was an abundance of sloppy kisses going around in anticipation of Valentine's Day.

RescueFest a Huge Success

The 3rd Annual RescueFest sponsored by Pookie's Bow Wow Bakery in Winter Park, FL was a huge success, and Dog House Parties was there to support this awesome cause! More than 16 pets were adopted into loving fur-ever homes and received exciting adoption gifts, such as Dog House Party Favors and funfilled spa days.

Bowden got to hang out with us in the party booth while his mom volunteered for Pet Rescue by Judy from Sanford, FL.

Einstein (from Florida Little Dog Rescue) was the very first Lucky-Pup to get adopted and got to pick out his own toy, treat, and bandana to complete his free Dog House Party Favor Box. His new parents are very proud of their tiny new ball of fur!

There was an abundance of raffles & prizes - everthing from gift baskets for your pets to vacations and spa days for people. The awesome vendors supporting this event included pet supply & service companies, veterinarians, holistic pet care, pet sitters & trainers, and even Coconut Clean all natural pet & people products. All Paws Pet Talk Radio was on the scene interviewing vendors & adopters, and broadcasting the event.

Rescue pets were available in abundance - from poodles & little lap dogs to great danes & greyhounds... and every breed & mix in between. We even met two very brave & beautiful kitties for adoption that seemed happy to get the chance for a forever home.

A big thank you goes out to Pookie's Bow Wow Bakery for their commitment to ending pet overpopulation, and to Urban Pets for donating lots of advertising to make this event a huge success!
