Dog House Parties Celebrates World Animal Day

October 4th has been deemed "World Animal Day" dating back as far as 1931. The holiday was started in Florence, Italy at a convention of ecologists who wanted to raise awareness of the plight of endangered species. The date of October 4th was chosen because it is the Feast Day of Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment.

From October 1st to October 9th, animal groups worldwide will be gathering to honor our furry friends with "Blessing of the Animals", festivals, fairs, and rescue awareness events.

Dog House Parties had our own celebration with energy healing, canine massage, fun bandanas, and of course... cookie & ice cream sundaes.

Even the kitties got some action with their own catnip sundaes, feather toys and treats. Tonight, we'll be celebrating with the resident donkeys by sharing some apples and a special blessing for the asses.

World Animal Day was a big hit at party headquarters, and we hope everyone around the globe enjoyed their festivities in honor of our furry friends everywhere!

Party Favors for Canyon Puppy

Riley, formerly known as "Puppy" was found in late June at the bottom fo an Arizona slot canyon, very near death, starved and dehydrated. He was rescued and treated at a local animal hospital before making the journey back to Salt Lake City with his rescuer, Zak Anderegg. Riley has been featured on the Today Show, Fox13 News, You Tube, and even has his own Facebook page.

When Dog House Parties heard about Riley's brush with death and remarkable recovery, Party Favor boxes stuffed with toys, treats, and cool neckwear were sent to Riley and his brother, Kohi. After all, what better way to celebrate Riley's life than with a Party Favor?

Birthday Party for 3

Three lucky pups received a Dog House Parties birthday kit and celebrated their big event together. Abby, Gretta, and Pattie all had birthdays the same month, so their mom threw one big bash to honor them all. With twelve dogs in attendance, this event truly was the bark of the block!

Bark in the Park 2010

This year's Bark in the Park event was a huge success and Dog House Parties was on the scene offering complete party kits for dogs. The gourmet treats were a real hit and all the dogs seemed to dig the "party" concept urging their humans to place orders right away.

Everyone had a howling good time at the Weiner Race with over 75 competing for the grand prize - which was donated by Dog House Parties. Congratulations Winning Weiner, we hope you enjoy your basket of party treats, toys, neckwear and party favors!

"Jagger" was a huge hit with all the ladies sprting his new star spangled bandana and kept an eye on everything on our tables. Jagger will be attending a very special Dog House Party for 4 birthday dogs and a wedding in June.

Even the Humane Society of Polk County was on site and appeared to have a very successful Adoption Drive.

Easter Bone Hunt

The Dog House Parties concept started last Easter, 2009 when we tried to find a party kit for our dogs to have an Easter Bone Hunt online - but couldn't. We decided it was time to start a site for turn-key party kits for our four-legged friends. This year, with toys and treats in stock, we threw our first Easter Bone Hunt for our pack of four! It was a howl! The dogs had a blast and LOVED finding all the Easter Bones. They especially liked their new ducky toys and awesome new bandanas.

Next year, we hope that all pampered pooches get to host their own Easter Bone Hunt and enjoy the festivities as much as Amos, Pnut, Luna & Bella did this year.
